In South Central Los Angeles, slaughterhouse laborer Stan (Henry G. Saunders) struggles at a job he loathes to make a better life for himself, his wife (Kaycee Moore) and their children. As he deals with challenges from being tempted into crime by acquaintances to trying to turn some profit on a used car motor, he questions whether that better life will ever arrive.
