Director R.W. Fassbinder's final film is an erotically searing adaptation of Jean Genet's controversial novel with Brad Davis as Georges Querelle, a handsome Belgian sailor exploring the various dimensions of his sexuality at a sordid brothel in France. While both the establishment's madam (Jeanne Moreau) and his commanding officer (Franco Nero) are captivated by him, Georges walks a dangerous path that will involve him in drug trafficking and murder.
